The dancer pose detail in the pool is such a vivid snapshot of embodied gratitude. There's somthing about listing small pleasures that cuts through the noise better than big declarations ever could. I noticed the progression from the sensory stuff at the start to the more reflexive moments near the end felt really natural. That mantra at the bottom lands well.

Thank you. Lists are one of my favorite ways to write from the body.

I love this list. And I love the inspiration to just jot down what I love, instead of gratitudes. Seems more lovely to me, even though it’s essentially the same thing.

Listing from the body is something I cherish. Thank you for your comment! I love lists too!

Uh oh! Sorry to hear you caught a bug? But so glad you’re getting better? So many lovely things on this list! Hard these days to not scroll…just to be informed…but reading and making art are my two favorite ways to settle the nervous system! And a good walk in the woods, of course. 8. Would love to hear your thoughts on The Corespondent. It keeps finding its way in my view, thinking about giving it a go. And 11. Solitude…what January-February is all about. Snuggling up with a cuppa tea or cocoa for a good chat with the soul. 12. Yes! 13. Hello sweet Oscar!

Emily, I always love your comments and learning about you through what you love too. And walking in the woods is always on my list, too. Oscar says Hi! xx

That was beautiful!! I felt like I was there in your January. I felt your conscious decision to pick up a book vs scrolling- the will power! The hope of new life, rebirth of spring coming from the cold beauty of winter is an annual Deja vu plea. Revel in January, it makes spring so much more powerful!

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Books and art and the promise of spring, even as the snow falls now, are all savory. I love "an annual Deja vu plea"! Can you say more about that? I love your words.
